Did Life just throw you a BIG Lemon?!

Now What???
We’ve been here before! We’ve been through a lifetime of Rosh Hashanas and Yom Kippurs. And we’ve pleaded “our case” to the Almighty. And we’ve made promises that “we’ll BEHAVE” differently this coming year!

Just look at your Esrog now…it’s probably still bright yellow, clean and full of fragrance. How do you think it’s going to look in 3 months, 6 months or by the end of the year? Is this year going to be any different for you?

Who are we trying to fool? Or is it really possible that we can actually make real sustainable CHANGES in our life?

I believe the answer is a resounding YES!!

Here’s FIVE STEPS to help you Make Real Change & Make it Stick:

Step number ONE
Ask yourself, “What do I want to change. And why?” Just be sure to look at your overall life situation. Not just your issue as an addict; but also ask yourself what do I want to change as being a husband, a father, in my business, my spiritual growth, my health and fitness, etc.

Step number TWO
Don’t just ask yourself the above questions and leave it at that. You gotta WRITE IT DOWN! You have to treat your new Plan for Change as if it’s the most important matter in your life – (by the way…it is!). And not only that, you need to set a timetable for the various phases of change and set up a schedule for change. Yes, and put it on your calendar too! Certainly it deserves to be there along with your next appointment at the dentist!

Step number THREE
Measure Results. Ask youself, as time passes, how did I do today with some steps to reach my goals? How about this week, this month, etc. This step not only gives added importance to our Plan to Change – but it also motivates you and helps you stay on course!

Step number FOUR
Share it with others! That’s right. Don’t try to change in isolation. Share your successes and your challenges with others. They will cheer you on. Or they’ll give you some direction.

Step number FIVE
Get a “CHANGE BUDDY.” Just like above, it makes a big difference for those of us who work out in the gym, to have a workout partner. So too, when we’re serious about making changes in our Life. It really helps to have a buddy or a mentor or a Life Coach to help you stay focused and committed!!
